Define head envelope, recess, thread fit and access around adjacent parts.
Specify travel, mating contact and locking requirements for fine-pitch or eccentric features.
Review mass, appearance, electrical needs and contact with dissimilar materials.
Compact housings and optical adjusters need different screw interfaces. Define the screw’s mechanical role alongside adjacent parts; an accurate thread alone does not establish the module’s optical performance.
| Assembly function | Specify with the mating parts | Acceptance and next review |
|---|---|---|
| Close a compact housing | Show head height, seating face, driver approach and the depth available in the mating tapped part. Identify appearance-sensitive surfaces. Special Head Screws | Check that the finished screw seats before bottoming and that the intended bit can enter. Record permitted contact marks on the housing. Secondary & Precision Operations |
| Translate a fine adjustment | Specify thread pitch, usable travel, contact-end form and the means of retaining the setting. Include the mating adjuster and its support. Fine & Extra-Fine Pitch Screws | Trial the required motion and return to a reference setting. Verify the assembled adjustment separately from thread dimensions. Thread Rolling, Cutting & Tapping |
| Position with an eccentric | State offset direction and magnitude relative to named datums, plus the angular reference and mating contact envelope. Eccentric & Angled Head Screws | Check offset geometry in the defined setup and trial adjustment in the module. Do not infer offset from the head outline alone. Swiss-Type & CNC Turning |
Review which dimensions apply after finishing, including the driver recess, fine thread and contact end. Define the clean condition required before assembly and which surfaces must avoid handling damage. Compare finished samples with the intended tool and mating components. Dimensional acceptance, cleanliness and any optical-system validation need distinct records; a visually clean part is not evidence of a measured particle limit.
Design-review examples, not customer delivery records. Select the actual limits and checks for the ordered assembly.
Review eccentric datums and adjustment geometryFor a module adjuster, send an assembly view showing the locating axis, adjustment contact and required access. A screw pitch alone does not define the complete mechanism.
Examples describe application requirements. Material suitability, production scope and verification are confirmed against the approved drawing.

Thread acceptance begins with the specified thread system and fit. The gauge, supplied finish and inspection method should all refer to that same requirement.
ENGINEERING GUIDESpecify the complete bore, minimum remaining wall, internal edges and acceptance method. Use thread-root geometry and bore offset in the section review.
